ROGERS — Marie Putman, 79, of Rogers, died April 30, 2015, at her home. She was born Sept. 26, 1935, in Bridgeport, Neb., to George Wiggin and Lela Williams Wiggin.
She married Jerry Putman June 26, 1952. She led seminars and abuse support groups, did lay counseling, was a writer and newspaper columnist, was a secretary at Immanuel Baptist Church in Rogers and was a manager for Linkway Furniture.
Marie taught women's Bible studies and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Rogers.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jerry; two brothers, Bob and Max Wiggin and one sister, Betty Warford.
She is survived by two sons, Dan Putman of Little Flock, Bill Putman and wife Franziska Marchant of Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter, Teresa Hufford and husband Gary of Little Flock; three brothers, George Wiggin and wife Arlene of Salem, Ore., Verne Wiggin and wife Ruth of Claremore, Okla., and Paul Wiggin of McCleary, Wash.; five sisters, Lela Lynch of Mesa, Ariz., Helen Spears and husband Bob of Waynesboro, Miss., Joy Lynch and husband Rick of Blue Springs, Mo., Gay Comboy and husband Joe of Independence, Mo., and Cynthia Palacios and husband Ignacio of Hobe Sound, Fla.; two grandchildren, Morgan Hufford of Little Flock, Alex Putman of Atlanta, Ga., and many nieces and nephews.
Service is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, May 2 at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Pea Ridge. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Burial will be in Pea Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at siscofuneralhome.net.
