Herman C. Chapman, 86; of the Blackoak Community, died Saturday in a local hospital. Born April 12, 1886 in Washington, County, the son of Daniel and Sarah Elizabeth Mills Chapman, he was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Nellie Boaz Chapman of the home; one son, Beryl of Fullerton, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Alberta Black of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Lola Stark of Brownwood, Tex.; three step-sons, Weldon Boaz of Fayetteville, John W Boaz of the U.S. Navy and Rex Boaz of Tulsa, Okla. and 16 grandchildren.

Arrangements will be announced by Moore's Chapel.

Mrs. Ethel Chapman, 55, life-long resident of Woolsey, died last night at the City Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Herman Chapman, one son, Burrell, of Fullerton, Calif.; two daughters, Miss Lola Chapman of the home and Mrs. W. B. Black of Sweetwater, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Elmer Johnson of Fayetteville, Mrs. May Sims of Brownwood, Texas, and Mrs. Charles Underhill of West Fork, and one brother, William Skelton, of Woolsay.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Baptist Ford Church by the Rev. Dotson Lewis. Burial will be in the Baptist Ford cemetery under the direction of Moore's Funeral home.
