GREENLAND — Donna Cheevers, age 67, of Greenland died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, in Fayetteville. She was born May 27, 1946, in Bellefonte, Ark., the daughter of Otis Woodrow and Delcie Ellen Tabor Bowling.

She was recorder-treasurer for the City of Greenland for 38 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenland and the Arkansas Municipal League. She was awarded Municipal Clerk of the Year for the state of Arkansas.

She is survived by her husband, Russell Cheevers; two sons, Stacy Cheevers and his wife, Joyce, of Fayetteville, and Craig Cheevers and his wife, Heather, of Greenland; two sisters, Peggy Case of Farmington and Norma LaRue of Van Buren; two brothers, James Bowling of Fayetteville and Clifford Bowling of Waterford, Calif.; six grandchildren, Ashdon Downey, Alicia Cheevers, Lauren Cheevers, Walker Cheevers, Kate Cheevers and Calvin Cheevers; and three great-grandchildren, Khristian Downey, Kayleigh Downey and Braylei Cheevers.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today, Feb. 7, 2014, at Moore's Chapel.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Greenland, under the direction of Moore's Chapel. Burial will be in Baptist Ford Cemetery.
