James Clyde Thomas, 66, of Springdale, died Friday, July 17, at Springdale Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 26, 1926, at Kingston, to Hubert Henry Thomas and Etta Minerva Griggs Thomas. He was retired from Porter Electric after 10 years of service. He was a member of Phillips Freewill Baptist Church of Springdale and was a member of the Universal Engineers of California. He moved to this area in 1961 from San Diego, Calif. He was preceded in death by two sons, Benjamin and Curtis Thomas.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Frances Thomas; a son, Darrell Thomas of Rogers; three daughters, Wilma Pitts of Bella Vista, Kathleen Driggs of Bentonville, and Etta Francine Thomas-Phillips of Fort McClellan, Ala.; two brothers, Clell Thomas of Cave Springs and Loyd Thomas of Huntsville; four sisters, Ruby Hammond, Edna Taylor and Goldie Lanningham, all of Springdale, and Ruth Harmon of Alabama; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral is set for 10 a.m. Monday at Sisco Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Garrison, the Rev. Jim Spurlock and the Rev. Loy Counts officiating. Burial is to be in Bluff Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the local Chapter of the American Heart Association. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
