Pocahontas- Erma “Jean” Griffith, 86 went to her heavenly home in the early hours of Tuesday, July 21, 2015.
The youngest of eight children, Jean was born September 4, 1928 in Smithville, AR to the late Elijah Watson and Lela Maude Smith Geurin.
She leaves behind her loving sons: Gary (Renee) Davis of Eau Claire, WI, Vic Davis (Shaun Barnes) of Boulder CO, Phillip (Kippy) Davis of Rector, AR, and Mark (Cathy) Davis of Pocahontas; 8 grandchildren: Dan, Darla, Weston, Abby, Trent, Tyler, Grace and Ann; 5 great-grandchildren: Billy, Tommy, Madison, Cameron and Mallori; 2 sisters: Fay Campbell and Hester Helms and sister-in-law LeAnna Geurin along with many nieces and nephews and a host of friends and neighbors; her beloved church family from First Freewill Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Raymond T. Davis, second husband Robert “Bob” Griffith; son Benny Ray Davis; brothers: Ernest Geurin, Ancel Geurin; sisters Hazel Cole, Oneida Tucker and Lemma Geurin.
Her Going Home Celebration will be held in McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends Friday, July 24, 2015 from 1-2 PM and services will be immediately following at 2 PM with Nelson Henderson officiating. Burial will be at Hope Cemetery.
