James A. Cockrell, 88, died Monday in Haynesville, La., following a brief illness. He is survived by three sons, Herbert Cockrell, Emerson, William Cockrell and Willis Cockrell, both of Haynesville; a daughter, Mrs. Melrose Hare, Haynesville; a sister, Mrs. Georgia Chisholm, Emerson; a brother, Tommy Cockrell, Haynesville; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Pentecostal Church of Haynesville with the Rev. Paul Bell officiating. Burial followed in jolly's Cemetery near Junction City.
