Mrs. Ruth Jones Britt, 70, of Route 1, El Dorado died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday in a local hospital after an illness of four weeks. Born Dec. 13, 1897, in Indiana, she was the daughter of Cecil and Prilla West Jones. She had been a Union County resident for 35 years and was a member of Wyatt Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, W. H. Britt of El Dorado; a son, Argyle Britt of Houston, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. N. C. Snider of Shreveport, La., and Mrs. Maxwell Adams of El Dorado; her mother, Mrs. Jones of Village; two brothers, L. C. Jones and K. W. Jones, both of Village; 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Wyatt Baptist Church with Rev. Willie LeBeff and Rev. Tom Bray officiating. Burial will be at Jolley's Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. (El Dorado Times - January 17, 1968)
