Charles Wayne Massey, age 87 of Batesville died Monday, February 13, 2012 at a Batesville hospital. He was born November 26, 1924 at Locust Grove, Arkansas to Ludie and Margie Webb Massey. He retired from Clark Equipment in Battle Creek, Michigan where he had worked for 32 years. He enjoyed little children and handing out candy to them, fishing and pheasant hunting. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Batesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nell Irene Massey and one brother, Norman Conard Massey.

Survivors include one brother, Billy Massey of Topeka, Kansas, three sisters, Jackie Long of Southside, DuLois Jirik of Topeka, Kansas and Janie Lou Tadlock of Batesville, one aunt, Allene Richardson of Batesville, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will begin Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Batesville with Bro. J. D. Stake, Bro. Troy Sharp and Bro. Bob Dailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery located at Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Dan Walden, Justin Walden, James Walden, Hayden Sowers, Bob Tadlock and John Jirik.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Robert Walton, his Sunday school class and all members of the First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Children's Ministry of the First Baptist Church in Batesville.
