Joel Owen Ferguson Jr., 86, of route 6, died in a Bentonville nursing home this morning after an extended illness. He was born at Sweetwater, Mo., June 3, 1878, the son of Joel 0. and Rose Ferguson. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include the widow, Mary L. of the home; one son, Everett of Fayetteville; one daughter, Mrs. Lottie Stacks of Fayetteville; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements will be announced by Nelson's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mary Ferguson 88; of Route 6, Fayetteville died at a local nursing home April 3. Born July 9, 1884 at Rogers, she was, the daughter of Ben and Mary Jane Adams Ford, and was a Baptist.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Lottie Stacks of Fayetteville; one son, Everett of Fayetteville; 17 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at White Oak Church with burial in White Oak Cemetery under direction of Nelson's Funeral Home.
