Shirley Melvenia Fisher Mitchell, 63, of DeWitt, died Monday, July 18, 2011. She was born Sept. 14, 1947 in DeWitt to Melvin Chester and Lula Fay Hayes Fisher.
Survivors include her husband, Edward G. Mitchell; children, Mel Mitchell of DeWitt, Scarlet Marcelle Garrett and husband, Floyd of Searcy, Carlene Mitchell of Santa Barbara, Calif., Preston Mitchell and wife, Rachel of DeWitt; brothers, Estel Fisher, Clifford Fisher, Russell Fisher all of DeWitt, Arlis Fisher of Hot Springs; sisters, Arveta Case and Kay Fisher of DeWitt; grandchildren, Austin Garrett, Brandon Garrett, Carson Mitchell and Camron Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry Fisher; and sister, Marilyn Wright.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 20th, at the Church of the First Born, Murphy Road, with burial at Thompson Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
