DEWITT--Herbert Rhodes, 83, of DeWitt, died April 14, 1998, at DeWitt City
Hospital.
He was born November 30, 1914, in Arkansas County, a son of the late
George Thomas Rhodes and Mezzie Faye Moody Rhodes.
He was a farmer and a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by a son, Aubrey Rhodes; and a great-
grandchild.
Survivors include his wife, Tressie Shadle Rhodes; three sons,
Kenneth Rhodes and Waymon Rhodes, both of Siloam Springs, and Ervin Rhodes
of Pine Bluff; two daughters, Darcil Williams of Siloam Springs and
Marcella Watkins of Stuttgart; 14 grandchildren; and three great-
grandchildren.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Unity Baptist Church at DeWitt
With Danny Carter and Horace Coose officiating. Burial will be in DeWitt
Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home of DeWitt.
