Lindall “Whitey” Blevins of Oxford, son of the late Andrew Jackson Blevins and Ida Bell Lynch Blevins was born October 27, 1918 in Union. He died on May 7, 2002 at Baxter County Regional Hospital in Mountain Home. He was 83.
Mr. Blevins was united in marriage to Lois Ballard on February 14, 1936 in Oxford. To this union one daughter was born.
He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Blevins was a farmer and a member of the Oxford Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lois of the home in Oxford; his daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and James McCurley of Oxford; one sister, Ruby Walling of Salem; two grandchildren, Angie Steer and husband Tom of Mountain Home; and Greg McCoach of Oxford; four great-grandchildren, Steven Steer of Mountain Home; Beth Hutcherson and husband Joshua of Gassville and Michael and Jesse Steer both of Mountain Home; many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Homer, Lee, Henry, Steve, Glen and Arthur Blevins; six sisters, Mamie Mitchell; Julia French; Nettie Langston; Bessie Blevins; Omer Tanner; and one who died in infancy and his parents.
Funeral services were Held May 9, 2002 at Oxford Baptist Church with Author Barber and Angie Steer officiating.
Interment was at Oxford Cemetery under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home in Salem.

Lois Hazel Blevins, of Oxford, daughter of the late William Ballard and Georgia Helm Ballard, was born January 22, 1920 in Oxford, Arkansas. She died May 23, 2015 at her daughter’s home in Mountain Home at the age of 95 years 4 months and 1 day.
She was united in marriage to Lindall Blevins on February 14, 1936 in Oxford. During her working years, she farmed, along-side her husband. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oxford Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn McCurley of Mountain Home; her grandchildren: Angie Steer and husband Thomas, and Charles Gregory “Greg” McCoach and wife Darla; great-grandchildren: Steven Steer, Beth Mincey and husband Dillon, Michael Steer and wife Rachel, and Jesse Steer; great-great grandchildren: Andrew, Abby, Eli, and Eden Steer: and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters: Rhea Singleton, and Faye Sherrell; brother: Dorr Ballard: grandson: Steven McCoach; and her father and mother.
Pallbearers are Michael Steer, Steven Steer, Andrew Steer, Jesse Steer, Jackie Walling, and Donnie Sherrell. Honorary pallbearers are John Dvorak, Shell Norvold, Joe Johnson, Jerry Blevins, and George Walling.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 10:00 am at Oxford Baptist Church in Oxford, Arkansas, with burial to follow in Oxford Cemetery under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem. To sign the online guest book go to coxblevinsfuneralhome.com
