Lincoln — Lester H. Spear, of Lincoln, died in a Fayetteville hospital Tuesday. Born near Lincoln, Nov. 18, 1919, the son of Marion and Deila Payne Spear, he was a gospel song-writer and a retired Baptist minister.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Evelyn Blake Spear of the home; a brother, Alva M. of Lincoln; and three nephews.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Baptist Church in Lincoln with burial in Sugar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
