Obituary
Ben O. Baker, age 80, of Morrilton, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010. He was born March 29, 1929 in Robertstown, Arkansas, a son of Plase Alexander Baker and Maggie Rogers Baker. He was an automobile mechanic, Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict, owner of Baker Radiator Company, and was Wonderview PTA President for two years. He was a Country and Gospel song writer, founded Ben Baker and the Mountain Music Makers, and was co-owner of B & G Records Company, and First Choice Publishing Company. Mr. Baker was a member of Morrilton First Assembly of God.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Hamm Baker of Morrilton; son, Benny (Pam) Baker of Morrilton; daughter, Patricia (Howard) Brannon of Amory, Mississippi; grandsons, Jason Brannon, Shawn Brannon and Brandon Baker; granddaughter, Cassandra Baker, and great-grandson, Elijah Brannon. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Ja`net Baker.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 20, at Morrilton First Assembly of God with Rev. Euna Mae Gibby, Rev. Trent Gabbard and Dr. Bill Brown officiating. Burial will be at Robertstown Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 19, at the funeral home.
