Bertha Oline Anderson, age 88, of Atkins, formerly of Russellville, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. A daughter of the late Thomas Lucious and Dora Lee Pritchard Shaw, she was born May 21, 1921 in Mathiston, Mississippi. She was a retired employee of Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center, and attended the Gumlog Fellowship Church. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Shaw, and two sisters, Pauline Younk and Christine Livengood.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Renada Anderson of Owasso, Oklahoma; two daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Frank Richter of Pottsville; and Karen and Gearld Austin of Atkins; eight grandchildren: Petra Davis, Michelle Hernandez, John Morton, Lindsay Anderson, David B. Austin, Stacy Gay, Megan Anderson and Richard Austin; and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 2 P.M. on Friday, June 5, 2009 at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Frank Richter. Burial will be in the Atkins City Cemetery, by Shinn Funeral Service.

Active pallbearers will be Richard Austin, John Morton, David B. Austin, Chris Gay, Roger Magness and Trey Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Anderson's nephews and nieces.
