Obituary
Ollie Lucille Porter Kincannon, 93, of Atkins died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at the Atkins Nursing Center. She was born July 7, 1917 to the late William "Bill" and Lula Bolton Porter.
She was born on Pine Mountain, in Conway County and has lived all her life in and around Jerusalem, Scotland and Atkins. She moved to Atkins in 1980. She married Rube Kincannon on July 13, 1934. She was preceded in death by her husband and two daughters, Dorothy (an infant) and Mary Huffman; two brothers and three sisters and a great-granddaughter. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was a housewife and helped on the farm in all areas of farm life. She was never out of the state of Arkansas. She was an avid bluegrass fan and always attended the bluegrass shows in earlier years. Her favorite group was the Gospel Ambassadors. They always sang her favorite song, "He is more precious than gold."
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Pat Kincannon of Sherwood and W.D. and Jan Kincannon of Quitman; a daughter and son-in-law, Gladys and Dub McCracken of Atkins; two granddaughters, Carla Kincannon of Mayflower and Karen (Kris) Rutherford of Maumelle; one grandson, James (Johanna) Huffman of Atkins; eight great-grandchildren, Kristianna, Klayton and Kolton Rutherford, Dalton, Cheyenne, Hunter, Hanna and Heath Huffman; three stepgrandsons, five stepgreat-grandchildren; three brothers, Jodie, Herman and Raymond Porter and one sister, Louise Eddy and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside service and burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Tommy Acton officiating under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
