Ray Bryant, 69, of Oakland, Ark., went to be with the Lord, Monday, March 7, 2011, at Hospice Home Care Inpatient Center, Little Rock.
He was born March 8, 1941, in North Little Rock, son of the late Roy Lee and Susie (Firestone) Bryant.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Lydia Elizabeth Reel.
Mr. Bryant was a retired teacher from Glendale High School in Glendale, Calif. He was a member of the California State Teachers' Retirement System. He collected clocks and watches, and was a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors. He enjoyed wood carving and was a member of the North Arkansas Wood Carving Association, square dancing, golf, talking, bird watching and was a member of the Audubon Society. Ray was a member of Twin Lakes Baptist Church in Mountain Home.
Survivors are his wife of 26 years, Lenore Bryant of Oakland; sister, Mary Ruth Wheeler of Hot Springs; nephew, Mike Wheeler of Harrison; nieces, Karen Davis of Hot Springs; Sheron Loetscher of Conway; great-niece, Angela Howard of Conway; great-nephew, Chad Wheeler of Harrison; great-great-nephews, Barrett and Anderson Howard; great-great-niece, Lydia Elizabeth Howard, all of Conway; and a host of friends.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Carter Cemetery, with family visitation at 10 a.m., at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway, 501-327-7727.
