SHEILA ABBOTT WILSON
"A Rare and Beautiful Soul"....
winged her way to Heaven this February 23, 2012 at 7:58 a.m. Her spirit was so rare and beautiful that the stars had gathered in the west Friday night and shone brighter than I have ever witnessed. Her spirit was already at work.
If you did not have the opportunity to meet her in this life, you will in the next! Saved at an early age, she never faltered in her faith, soft love, understanding, caring for others and she never failed to talk to her God in prayer daily. A few hours before she went with God, she came to me in her spiritual presence and said, "Mom, it is time to "Let Go ~ And Let God", but I need you to tell me it is O.K." I prayed, let go and let God, and three hours later she had gone with God.
Multi-talented, generous in every fiber of her being and at peace with her God.... she impacted on every life whose path she crossed. Her body was ravaged at age 13 with medical illness and she progressively, quietly fought through pain and suffering throughtout her life that most of us will never experience ~ always with an infectious smile, amazing personality, character and leadership. She accomplished everything she set out to do. She excelled in the entire spectrum of performance of duty/job, creative tasks, national pageants, modeling, sports, snow skiing, competitive horseback riding, journalism, and above all her relationship with God and her Church. And the only time she ever vocalized a need for help was when she looked at me about three weeks ago and said, "Mom, I cannot do this anymore... .1 have to ask God to carry me for awhile... .1 can no longer walk."
Sheila was born March 28, 1963 at Memorial Hospital, North Little Rock, AR. After graduating S.H.S.H. and attending college, she moved to Columbus, Ohio, where she met and married Orren Wilson; and, consequently, she and Orren transitioned their life, home and business to Savannah, GA. At the time of her death she and her husband owned and operated real estate properties, including purchase, renovation, rental and resale.
Sheila Abbott Wilson is survived by her husband Orren Wilson of Savannah, GA and two stepdaughters, Savanna Graham of Columbus, OH and McKenzee Wilson of Savannah, GA; she is also survived by her mother, Janelle Merritt of Greenbrier, AR; her brother Robert S. Hild and his wife Shay Hild of Conway, AR and her nephew R.J. Hild and niece Brianna Hild; she is also survived by sister Jennifer Hoppe of Warrensburg, MO; grandparents J.C. and Avanelle Merritt of Greenbrier, AR; and extended families of The Merritts, Morgans, Abbotts, and Hilds.
Services will be held at 1:00 Monday afternoon in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Greenbrier with burial at Thorn Cemetery Greenbrier with Bro. Ed Stephenson officiating.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 Sunday at the funeral home.
