BIVINS, Texas — H. Maxine Herring, 56, of Bivins died Sept. 22, 1999, in Texarkana, Texas. She was born Jan. 22, 1943, in Springdale. She was an insurance-claims worker for Atlanta Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Texas, and a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church, where she was a former Bible teacher and choir member. She had been a resident of Bivins for 16 years.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny "J.L." Herring of Bivins; one son, Conrad Luker of Springdale; one daughter, Mavis Luker of Little Rock; one stepdaughter, Tammy Jo Moore of Lexington, Ky.; her mother, Helen Hanrahan of Springdale; two sisters, Faye Flaucher of Pomona, Mo., and Esther Lea Wells of West Plains, Mo.; one brother, Cecil Hellyer of Fort Collins, Colo.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Walnut Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwight Bird officiating.
Graveside services will be at 5 p.m. at White Oak Cemetery in Harmon.
Pallbearers will be deacons of Walnut Hill Baptist Church.
Arrangements are by McGuire Funeral Home in Vivian, La.
