Charles H. Mendenhall, age 76, of Route 1, Rosston, died in a local hospital at 8:15 p.m. Friday. He was born in Nevada County, Arkansas, December 29, 1878, son of George W. and Martha S. Blake Mendenhall. Mr. Mendenhall spent his entire life on the farm where he was born. He was a retired saw filer and Millwright. Mr. Mendenhall was a member of the W. O. W. of Rosston and the Troy Church of Christ. Survivors are the wife, Mrs. Hester Mendenhall, one son Louis Mendenhall, Rosston, three grandchildren, Lelia Joe Mendenhall, Rosston, Charles Mendenhall, of Rosston and Dickie Mendenhall of Waldo. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Stephens Church of Christ by Rev. Otis Rowe, Springhill, La. Burial will be in Stephens cemetery by Forbis-Mathis Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Edwin Morgan, Ray Calwell, Wilson Booker, Coby Arrington, Loule Robinson, and Oscar Ingram. The body will remain at the Forbis-Mathis Funeral Home. (Camden News - March 26, 1955)
