William "Bill" Schmidt, 75-year-old resident of Decatur, Ark., died Thursday, August 17, at his residence after a sudden illness.
Mr. Schmidt was born October 6, 1902, at Bridgeport, Okla. and had lived in this area for the past 26 years. He was a retired telephone company owner and a member of the First Methodist Church at Decatur. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 313 at Hinton, Okla.
He is survived by: his widow, Ossie of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Ann Smith of Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Caroline Price of Slidell, La.; two brothers, Joe Schmidt of Mutual, Okla., and A.M. Schmidt of Camargo, Okla.; one sister, Mrs. Lorena Patterson of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held for Mr. Schmidt, Sunday, August 20 at 2:30 p.m., in the First Methodist Church at Decatur with the Rev. Harold Brent officiating.
Burial was in the Falling Springs Cemetery under the direction of the Pyeatte Funeral Service.
