JONESBORO-Laddie Logan, 79, of Jonesboro, formerly of Walnut Ridge, passed away Saturday December 7, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bly Logan and Marie Fentress, his step-parents, Randy Fentress and Kitty Logan, and his wife, Mona Logan. He is survived by his son, William P. Logan of Houston and daughter, Ramona Marie “Mimi” Logan of Jonesboro.

Laddie joined the Army in 1957 after having graduated from Arkansas State College. LTC. Logan retired from the Army in 1977. His decorations include three Legion of Merit Medals, Meritorious Service Medal, Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal with valor devise and two oak leaf clusters, Combat Infantryman Badge, Air Medal with Numeral 2, Army Commendation Medal, Parachutist Badge, Ranger Tab, Vietnamese Ranger Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Silver Star, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm.

Upon retiring from the military he again entered college and earned a Master of Business Administration Degree in 1979 from Arkansas State University and a Doctorate in Marketing from the University of Memphis. Dr. Logan taught at Arkansas State University in the College of Business, Department of Management and Marketing, from 1979 until retiring in 2000.

Service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday December 13, 2013 at Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with the Rev. Jeanne Williams officiating.
A graveside service with Full Military Honors will follow at Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery in Walnut Ridge.

Honorary pallbearers will be the N.E.A. Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and the Old Geezer's Breakfast Club of Lawrence County.

There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greene County Animal Farm, 1261 Greene 739, Paragould, Arkansas 72450 or the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society, P.O. Box 1042, Jonesboro, Arkansas 72403.
