Thomas Alvin "Al" Dawson the son of Olen Dawson and Mildred (Stephens) Dawson. Patsy Ruth (Rice) Dawson the wife of Thomas Alvin "Al" Dawson. Patsy Ruth (Rice) Dawson the daughter of Claude "Shorty" Rice and Elsie (Booth) Rice.

WALNUT RIDGE -- Thomas "Al" Dawson, 66, of Walnut Ridge died Wednesday, Jan. 26, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born at Walnut Ridge, he was a salesman for Matthew Oil Co. and of the Baptist belief.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Dawson of the home; one son, Gregory A. Dawson of Walnut Ridge; one daughter, Kimberly L. Huckaby of Walnut Ridge; 10 sisters, Jo Ann Karberg, Nancy Groth, Norma Gosa, Sharon Eldridge, Beverly Wilder, Donna Riggles and Brenda Zissler, all of Rockford, Ill., Mary Broadway of Pocahontas, Anna Cargal of Terre Haute, Ind., and Wilma Brewer of Fort Collins, Colo.; three brothers, Jerry Dawson of Powhatan, Jimmy Dawson of Rockford and Billy Dawson of Brandon, Miss.; and three grandsons, Shawn Dawson, Brandon Dawson and Blake Snow, all of Walnut Ridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Olen and Mildred Dawson, and one sister.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie, with Robbie Hager and Chuck Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be in Old Military Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Bradley, Keith Broadway, Carl Rice, Tom Richardson, Ronnie Rice, Bill Brewer, Glen Eldridge, Sonnie Rice and Junior Rice.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Patsy Ruth Dawson, 75 of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, passed away Monday February 10, 2014, in the St. Bernard's Medical Center.
Born September 16, 1938, in Walnut Ridge, AR., daughter of Claude (Shorty) and Elsie Booth Rice.
She was a driver and delivered for the local Meals on Wheels and was a member of the New Life Cathedral Church in Hoxie.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Alvin Dawson; a son, Greg Dawson; two brothers, Carl and Frankie Rice.
Survivors include a daughter, Kim Huckaby of Walnut Ridge; three grandsons, Shawn Dawson, Brandon (Nikki) Dawson and Blake Snow; one sister, Barbara Joyce Christopher of Walnut Ridge; two brothers, Junior (Dixie) Rice of Walnut Ridge, Sonnie (Judy) Rice of Pocahontas; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were in the New Life Cathedral Church in Hoxie. Interment was in the Old Military Cemetery in Sedgwick under the direction of the Bryan Funeral Home.
