LITTLE FLOCK — Thomas Jerry Putman, 80, of Little Flock, died Friday, Feb. 14 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. He was born Dec. 4, 1933, in Bentonville to Albert Putman and Lela Hileman Putman of Pea Ridge.
He graduated from Gravette High School in 1951 and married Marie Wiggin of Gravette on June 26, 1952. He loved to hunt and travel. He traveled to Alaska seven times but his favorite trip was to Ireland.
He was instrumental in incorporating Little Flock in 1970 and served as Little Flock's first marshal for 10 years. He was very proud of the Little Flock Police Dept. He retired from Rogers Tool Works, formerly Wendt Sonis, in 1996. He was a member of the Pea Ridge Historical Society, Gravette United Methodist Church and attended Grace Baptist Church in Rogers.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Joe, Rex, Bobby and Fay.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Putman of the home; two sons, Dan Putman of Little Flock, Bill Putman and wife, Franziska Marchant, of Smyrna, Ga.; a daughter, Teresa Hufford and husband, Gary, of Little Flock; a grandson, Alex Putman; a granddaughter, Morgan Hufford; a brother, Vance Putman of California; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Service is set for 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17 at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Pea Ridge with Pastor Randy Parks officiating. Burial will be in Pea Ridge Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.
Police escort will be provided by the Little Flock Police Department.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Putman Cemetery Association, 4819 Rocky Ridge Trail, Rogers, AR 7Z756.
