LEE, Clara Neal JEFFERSON - (from Pea Ridge) The entire community was shocked last Friday when it became known that Mrs. Walter Lee had passed away at 2:30 o'clock, the direct cause of her death being peritonitis. Deaths are always so sad but it seems that this one was unusually so owing to the fact that only last February she was happily married to Mr. Lee, one of our very best young men. They were so happy in their newly made home but death is no respecter of persons and when the summons comes, no matter when, we must go. Mrs. Lee was formerly Miss Clara Jefferson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.A. Jefferson. She was of a lovable disposition and numbered her friends by her acquaintances. She leaves a devoted husband, father and mother, one brother, five sisters and a number of other relatives to mourn her loss and to them we extend our sympathy.

Mrs. Clara Neal Lee, daughter of B.A. and Leora Jefferson, was born at Pea Ridge November 20, 1900 and died Sept. 17, 1920, age 19 years, ten months and seven days. Her life was spent in the community in which she was born. In early life her bright, sunny disposition was noticed by all who knew her. At home, at church and at school she won the love and friendship of all and these attachments grew stronger as the years passed. Her education was received at the Pea Ridge school and at Bentonville. On the 3rd day of February 1920 she was married to Mr. Walter B. Lee, with whom she lived happily until called to live with the angels above. In August 1920 she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and the hope sustained her during the last trying hours of her life. She is survived by her husband, her mother, father, five sisters, one brother and grandmother, all of whom were with her during the last sickness except Mrs. O.E. James and Mrs. H.S. Shockley of Canada. Besides these she leaves many relatives and a host of friends who sorrow over her death. In the presence of a large concourse of friends and relatives at the Presbyterian Church funeral services were conducted by Rev. A.E. Carnahan and Rev. J.H. Ruble. May a kind providence comfort the bereaved ones. A Friend.
