FAYETTEVILLE — Irene Catherine Guthary Neale, 91, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away Nov. 27, 2010, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. She was born on June 27, 1919, in Long Beach, Calif., a daughter of Alfred C. and Olive Sue (Gallaher) Guthary.
She lived her whole life in Robinson and White Oak communities. She married Robert Neale in November 1936. She was a Christian and was baptized in the Methodist Church when she was 13 years old. She loved the outdoors, gardening, flowers, raking leaves and picking up walnuts in the fall and she loved all of her birds, many of them she named.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Neale; three brothers, Hugh, Milford and Garland Guthary; and a daughter, Irene Yvonne Henson.
She is survived by one son, John Robert Neale of Belt, Mont.; one daughter, Iona Mae Bausinger of Springdale, Ark.; her daughter-in-Law, Ilene Neale of Vail, Ariz.; her son-in-law, Charles Henson of Ponca City, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many old and new friends.
All of us loved her so very much and will miss her presence, but we know she is safe with her Lord and Savior.
We would like to thank the staff: nurses, PCAs, doctors, secretaries and housekeepers at Northwest Health in Springdale, Ark., and a special thank you to the staff at Hospice Circle of Life, you gave us all great comfort in the few minutes we were with you and gave Irene wonderful loving care. To Dr. Alam, Pam, Lee: God put you in our Earthly path for a reason. You give so much. We can never thank you enough. God bless you.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Nov, 30, 2010, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale, Ark.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be her grandsons; and honorary pallbearers will be Kyle, Kristy and Zachary Edens. Committal service to follow at White Oak Cemetery.
