Beatrice Patoka, 81, of Star City, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Gardner Nursing Home. She was born July 28, 1928 in Dumas to the late Clarence and Willie Mae Carter Wells. She was a homemaker and co owner in various family businesses. She attended Yorktown First Baptist Church near Star City. She was a member of the V.F.W Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary both Star City Post.
Also preceding her in death are a daughter; Connie Joleen Backus, brother; Lee Russell Wells, 2 sisters; Bessie Bradley and Zelma Smith.
Survivors include her husband; Joe Patoka, sons; Joel Patoka and wife Jenny of Star City and Randy Patoka and wife Jean of Dumas, brothers; Audrey Wells of Dumas and Derwood Wells of Monticello, grandchildren; Steven Backus, Misty Walthall, Kyle Patoka, Adrian Patoka, Jordan Patoka, Matthew Patoka and Michael Patoka, great grandchildren; Lauren Backus, Fallon Backus, Jordan Walthall, Riley Walthall and Conner Walthall.
Services will be Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the Griffin Funeral Chapel, in Star City, at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Julius Carter officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Patoka Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Matthew Patoka, Michael Patoka, Kyle Patoka, Adrian Patoka, Jordan Patoka and Steven Backus.
