Ex-Springdale Woman, Husband Die In Smashup
SPRINGDALE — Laird Underwood, 42, his wife, Mrs. Rona Katherine Underwood, 30, and their three-year-old daughter, Sandra Kay were fatally injured in an automobile accident near Quincy, Ill., Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Underwood died at the scene and the child died several hours later.
Mrs. Underwood was born July 5, 1936 in Redlands, Calif. and is a former Springdale resident.
Survivors are another daughter, Kathy Layne Underwood of the home; one son, Clifford Brian Culver of Springdale; one step-son, Butch Underwood of Paragould; two step-daughters, Billy Faye and Cissy Underwood both of Paragould; two brothers, James H. Lane of San Diego, Calif. and Raymond Lane of Elm Springs and one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Warford of Springdale.
Sandra Kay was born July 3, 1963 in Quincy.
Double services for Mrs. Underwood and Sandra Kay will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Sisco Funeral Chapel with burial in White Oak Cemetery.
Funeral services for Mr. Underwood will be under direction of the Heath Funeral Home of Paragould.
