David F. Bird was born in Green County, East Tennessee May 25, 1862; died of consumption at his home near Gentry, Ark. Monday morning, March 19, 1906; aged 44 years, 10 months and 4 days. At the age of thirteen years Mr. Bird came to Arkansas with his parents and several other families among whom were Rev. Stephen Harrison (better known as "Uncle Steve") and the Fox brothers, locating in Benton County where he remained until his death - a period of over thirty years. In the year 1885 deceased was married to Miss Adah Hulsey to whom eight children were born, five of whom (three girls and two little boys) together with their mother survive him. He was one of a large family of 13 children, only two of whom remain. As a citizen and neighbor Mr. Bird was honest and upright and an affectionate father. It is a consoling fact that he embraced a hope in the Savior several days before his death and died in the prospect of a glorious immortality. The bereaved family and relatives have the sympathy of a host of friends in this, their sad trial. A Friend.

*The other side of the monument has his 3 children listed: Stonie, Willie and Marshall
