BENTONVILLE — Emegene "Gene" Arthurs, 87, of Bentonville, Ark., passed away Feb. 13, 2014, at Mercy Hospital. She was born Aug. 20, 1926, in Elm Springs, Ark., to Lonzo and Esther Campbell Phillips.

Gene was an avid reader and spent her time crocheting. She enjoyed being with family in friends.

She worked at Burns Funeral Home for over 13 years. Gene was a 1944 Bentonville HS graduate. She attended Park Street Baptist Church and loved all the friends she made there.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Crouse, the father of her children and her second husband, James; her parents; four brothers; and a son-in-law, Bill.

Gene is survived by one daughter, Linda Samuel of Pea Ridge, Ark.; one son, Dennis Crouse and wife, Regina, of Fayetteville, Ark.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Chapel in Rogers with Ronald Roughton officiating.

A visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers. Words of comfort may be expressed at stockdalefuneral.com.
