Buddy Franks, of Hiwasse, Arkansas, died November 6, 2007, at Regency Hospital, Springdale, Arkansas. He was born March 9, 1926 in Swain, Arkansas to H.L. Franks and Suzie Thomas Franks.
He married Virgie Shook August 16, 1947, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He served 22 years in the Navy before retiring in 1974. He served in World War II, Korea and last three years in Viet Nam. He had many interests including his family, his church, and his hobby as a cowboy of training horses and roping calves.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jack Franks and Joe Franks; one sister, Edith Waterman; and three sisters-in-law, Wilma Franks, Bonnie Franks and Mary Franks.
Survivors include his wife Virgie of the home; two sisters, Helen Ketner and husband Don of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Shirley Barron and husband Bill of Springdale, Arkansas; one brother, Martin Franks of Hiwasse, Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2007, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, with Gene Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery, Decatur, Arkansas. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.

Buddy Franks, 81, of Hiwasse died Tuesday at Regency Hospital in Springdale.
He was born March 9, 1926, in Swain to H.L and Suzie Thomas Franks.
He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during World War II, the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jack Franks and Joe Franks; and a sister, Edith Waterman.
Survivors include his wife, Virgie Shook Franks of the home; two sisters, Helen Ketner of Clarksville, Tenn., and Shirley Barron of Springdale; and a brother, Martin Franks of Hiwasse.
Service is 2 p.m. Thursday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs with Gene Roberts officiating.
Burial is in Decatur Cemetery.

Virgie Lee Shook Franks, 89, of Gravette, Arkansas, died Sunday, August 31, 2014, at her home. Born April 26, 1925, in Decatur, Arkansas, she was the daughter, of Lee and Beulah Shook.
She was a 1942 graduate of Decatur High school and a graduate of the University of Arkansas. She taught elementary school for many years including schools in Alaska, Kansas, and Gravette, Arkansas.
Survivors include her sisters; Dorothy McClary of Owasso, Oklahoma, Neva Lou Franks of Huntsville, Arkansas, Betty Jean Daharsh of Rogers, Arkansas, and Norma Jane Wilmoth of Decatur, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Leo Shook; a Sister, Donna Rae Shook Wood; and her husband, Buddy Franks.
Service will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Burial will be at Decatur Cemetery.
