SPRINGDALE — Walter Clayton Bowers, 82, of Springdale died Sunday, March 23, 2014. He was born Dec. 22, 1931, in Beaumont, Texas, to Lloyd D. and Pearl Emma Walker Bowers.
Walter served in the Army during the Korean War. He had many talents and skills, including trick roping. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodworking and traveling.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Elery Bowers.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann (Berryman) Bowers of Springdale; a daughter, Glenda Harp and husband, Rick, of Elm Springs; two sisters, Nelwyn Cook and Lois Kaspar, both of Beaumont, Texas; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. today, March 25, at Elm Springs Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Heritage Funeral Home.

Jo Ann Bowers, 83, of Springdale, died Wednesday, June 12, 2019. She was born July 11, 1935, in Blackjack, Texas, to Gordon and Velma Chance Berryman. Jo Ann was fond of “going junking” at local flea markets and yard sales. She was a longtime member of Living Church of God and very strong in her faith. She was a resident of The Maples in Springdale since 2013.
Jo Ann is survived by one daughter, Glenda Harp and husband Rick of Springdale; one sister, Lynda Dianne Beasley of Beaumont, Texas; two grand-daughters, Kristin Nicole Hawkins and Staci Lynn Snider, both of Magnolia, Arkansas; and three grandchildren, Jadelyn Brooke Snider, Kymber Claire Hawkins, and Tanner Allan Snider.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Walter Clayton Bower.
Services were Monday, June 17, at Elm Springs Cemetery.
