MOUNT OLIVE — Barbara Jean Jeffery, 64, of Mount Olive, formerly of Batesville, died Sunday, March 23, 2008, in Little Rock.
Born March 11, 1944, in Yakima, Wash., she was the daughter of Lionel and Margaret Sherry Loranger. She worked as a cook at Central School in Batesville and White River Medical Center. She was a member of Ruthie Mountain Volunteer Fire Department and Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Batesville.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Jerry Jeffery; a daughter, Lynn Pollock of Mount Olive; her mother of Calico Rock; two brothers, Leon Loranger of Federal Way, Wash., and Lawrence Loranger of Brockwell; two sisters, Shirley Washington of Brockwell and Venita Loranger of Hazel, Ky.; and two grandchildren, Doug Pollock and Jacob Pollock.
She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Marlene Loranger; and two infant children, Lionel James Jeffery and Vickie Lee Jeffery.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church, located on Highway 25 in Batesville, with R.W. Keesee and Philip Wysocki officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Pallbearers will be David Washington, Randy Washington, Shannon Washington, Gene Sweat, Dwayne Lawrence and Larry Engles.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
