Dr. Robert E. Reeser, 76, of Fayetteville died Tuesday, November 28, 1995, at a Fayetteville hospital. He was born May 3, 1919, at Piqua, Ohio, the son of Frank and Martha Huff Reeser. Dr. Reeser received his BA degree at the University of Southern California as well as his MA and Ph.D. at the University of California at Los Angeles. He was with the 20th Century-Fox Film Art Department from 1942-1943. Dr. Reeser was a member of the University of Arkansas Arts and Sciences Faculty for 40 years where he served as chairman of the history department for 13 years. Dr. Reeser retired as Professor Emeritus in 1986. He was a member American Southern & Arkansas Historical Associations and of Phi Alpha Theta.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Collins Reeser of the home.

Graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 1995, at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville with Rev. Phil Misenheimer officiating.

The family has requested memorials be made to the Robert E. Reeser Classical Studies Award; Department of History; Old Main #416; Fayetteville, Arkansas 72701.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nelson's Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
