ROGERS — Virginia Colene Tate, 70, of Rogers died Jan. 2, 2008. She was born May 6, 1937, in Kingston to Millage Houston and Velma Marie Bowen.
She was employed by Bear Brand Hosiery for 18 years. She was owner and operator of Colene's Beauty Salons in Bentonville and Rogers for 31 years. She was a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in Springdale.
Survivors include her husband, George C. Tate; three children, Georgie Ann Tate, Calvin Brent Tate and Angelia Dawn Baier and husband Brad, all of Rogers; three brothers, W. Alton Bowen of Farmington, Leonard H. Bowen of Springdale and Jimmy D. Bowen of Springdale; four sisters, Mary Juanita Madewell, Ina Mae Ross, Wanda Lee Smith and Linda Louise Fitzner, all of Springdale.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in Springdale with Clark Snow and Arthur Lee Galloway officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Stockdale Funeral Services in Rogers, stockdalefuneral.com.
Pallbearers will be Brad Baier, Buddy Old, Mark Hite, Bill Smith, Vernon Fredrickson and Darrell Ross.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Jonathan McNally, Christopher Tate and Cameron Tate.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund, 1000 N. Gutensohn Road, Springdale, 72764.
