Hugh D. Pharris, 99, of Springdale died Nov. 20, 1991, at Springdale Memorial Hospital. He was born June 4, 1892, at Leslie, the son of Charles and JoAnn Perry Pharris. He was a retired farmer and attended the Phillips Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Springdale. He lived and worked in California for 25 years during World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Verda Poole and Velva Harding, both of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Ellen Ferguson of Fayetteville and Edward G. Harding of Dallas; two great-grandchildren, Patti Harding of Waco, Texas, and Andrew E. Harding of Dallas.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at White Oak Cemetery in Tontitown with the Rev. Cecil Garrison officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Sisco Chapel of Springdale.

Springdale - Mrs. Mary E. Pharris, 69, of Springdale, died Sunday in Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 10, 1899 at Wheeler, the daughter or Thomas H. and Angie R. Alexandria Parker, she was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors are the husband Hugh D. Pharris of the home; two step-daughters, Mrs. Verdie Pool and Mrs. Vuela Harding, both of Fayetteville; one brother, Earl Parker of Harmon; four sisters, Mrs. Lillie Dodge, Mrs. D.C. Layne aud Mrs. Joe Hanrahan, all of Springdale and Mrs. Mike Elliott o Highfill and two grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Sisco Funeral Chapel with burial in White Oak Cemetery.

NOTE: Hugh married first, Janie Ford, 1890 - 1970, buried at Baptist Ford Cemetery.
Mary married first, a Mr. Cooper
