Ralph O Benefield son of George Benefield and Bertha Elizabeth (Harris) Benefield. Ralph O Benefield was born in Haleyville, Winston County, Alabama. He died in Mountain Home, Baxter County, Arkansas. Peggy Doris (Beardsley) Benefield daughter of Edward Eugene (Beardsley) and Celeste Kathern (Serratt) Beardsley Woodard.
Peggy Doris Beardsley Benefield of Calico Rock, Arkansas
Peggy Doris Beardsley Benefield, daughter of the late Edward Eugene Beardsley and Celeste Kathern Serratt Beardsley Woodard, was born October 1, 1927 in Marston, Missouri. She departed this life October 28, 2014 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 87 years and 26 days.
She was united in marriage to Ralph O. Benefield on November 23, 1945 in Osceola, Arkansas and to this union two children were born.
She spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She was a proud army wife who traveled with her husband while raising her family. She especially enjoyed living in Germany and Thailand. She was of the Protestant faith and attended the Calico Rock Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two children: Beverly Robins and husband Tommy of Calico Rock and Michael Benefield of Russellville, Arkansas; three sisters: Bonnie Partell, Lina Verna Chalk both of St. Louis, Missouri and Betty Alexander of Arkansas; three grandchildren: David Benefield (Jenniann), John Benefield and Sharon Tuttle (Nick); five great grandchildren: Austin, Ashley, Aidan, Nate and Mariah and a host of other relatives and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister: Frances Morgan; two brothers: James Edward Beardlsey and Bobby Beardsley.
Funeral service will be Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Wayne Wood officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Visitation will be Saturday, November 1 beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Pallbearers: Jay Knight, David Benefield, John Benefield, Austin Forgason, Nick Tuttle and Rick Knowles. Honorary Pallbearers: Tom Hamby, Howard Jeffery and Jim Clinkingbeard.

Ralph O. Benefield of Calico Rock, son of the late George and Bertha Elizabeh Harris Benefield, was born August 26, 1926, in Haleyville, Alabama. He died March 3, 2001, in Mountain Home. He was 74.
Mr. Benefield was united in marriage to Peggy Beardsley in Garden Point Novmeber 23, 1945, and to this union two children were born. He served in the United States Army during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He retired in 1972, after serving 25 years and attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After retirement, Ralph was an instructor for the Saudi Project at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He was a Hunter Education Instructor for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. He was active in the Calico Rock Lions Club, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Wilson-Byler Post #7730 in Calico Rock. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Benefield of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Tommy Robins of Doniphan, Missouri; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Linda Benefield of Russellville; three grandchildren, David Benefield, John Benefield, and Sharon Forgason; two great grandchildren, Austin and Ashley Forgeson; and a host of other friend and relatives.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Verna Mae Grimes and Joyce Ann Figgins; and his parents.
Funeral services were held March 5, 2001, at the Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Wayne Wood officiating. Pallbearers were F. M. Merryman, Fred Ward, Mike Cartwright, Jay Knight, Danny Jenkins, and Winston Wilcox. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Calico Rock Lilons Club, and the VFW Wilson-Byler Post #7730.
Interment was at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home of Calico Rock.
