Clarence W. Bone Succumbs, Was 76

Clarence W. Bone, 75, president of Kelley Bros. Lumber Company, and resident of Route 2, Longview Acres Addition, died this morning at 7:45 o'clock in a local hospital after an extended illness. He was born May 25, 1885 at Eureka Springs, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William F. Bone, and was a member of the Church of Christ at Springdale. He was married on Feb. 21, 1904 at Clifty to the former Miss Lenora Godard, who survives him.

Other survivors are one son, Wells Bone, Fayetteville; four daughters, Mrs. Leo Anderson, Clifty, Mrs. James Brown, Reno, Nev., Mrs. Carl Springer, Porterville, Calif., and Mrs. James Phelps, Fayetteville; one sister, Mrs. Mary Godard, Wellston, Okla.; 15 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Nelson's Funeral Home.

Funeral Services Held for Mr. Bone

Funeral services for C. W. "Jack" Bone, 76, who died Thursday, were conducted at the Church or Christ this morning. Mr. Bone was a former postmaster and merchant at Clifty in Madison County and had been associated with the lumber industry since 1921.

He entered the lumber trade at Springdale with the Kelley Bros. Lumber Company yard in 1921, moving to Fayetteville in 1930 to assume the position of manager at the Kelley Bros. Lumber Co. here. He was president and general manager of the yard until his retirement about five years ago.

Mr. Bone was widely known in the lumber business for his progressive policies and served with-in the industry in local, state and regional capacities. He was a past member of the Lions Club, Masonic Lodge and Chamber of Commerce.

Funeral services for Clarence Wesley "Jack" Bone, 73, resident of Route 2, Fayetteville, who died Thursday, were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the North Street Church of Christ by David Howell, minister. Burial was in Fairview cemetery under the direction of Nelson's Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Alex Johnson, Claude Dowell, James Littrell, Wayne Allen, Dale Parrott, and Roy Shelton. Honorary pallbearers were Carl Tune, Joe Gregg, H.C. Palmer, Tom Hargis, Dr. Nolen Helstern, J. O. Witt, Jr., James Woodruff, and James K. Gregory.
