Mrs. Joyce Hall Rueckert, 73, of Ellijay, died Saturday, June 14. She was born Aug. 10, 1940, to the late Ernest and Odessa Hall in Culp, Ark. For 36 years she was a dedicated employee in the airline industry, beginning on Oct. 5, 1959, with Capital Airlines prior to moving to United Airlines and retiring from Apollo Travel Services Aug. 31, 1995.

Upon retiring, she and Keith built their dream home in the mountains surrounded by the nature she loved. After retiring, she served as secretary-treasurer of the Big Creek Station 4 Volunteer Fire Department of Ellijay for several years.
She is preceded in death by sister, Louise Hall; nephew, Dwight Nathan Long; and brother-in-law, Dwight Long.

She is survived by husband of 45 years, R. Keith Rueckert; sister, Verda Long, of Arkansas; stepmother, Fayetta Hall, of Arkansas; sister-in-law, Carol Ann Rideout, of Michigan; nieces; a nephew; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Ellijay Wednesday, July 9, at 2 p.m.
Interment will be at a later date at the Herd Cemetery in Culp, Ark.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First United Methodist Church of Ellijay, 75 McCutchen St., Ellijay GA 30536 in memory of Mrs. Joyce Hall Rueckert.
