Jane Aleene "GG" Gaines, 88, of Magnolia, died Friday January 31, 2014, at Wentworth Place in Magnolia. Jane was born August 26, 1925, in Hunter, Okla., to the late Albert Dale and Meta Irene (Smith) Hughes and was a cashier for Lawhons for many years. Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Edward Gaines; sons, Jon Kent Gaines, Sr., and Kyle Max Gaines; and a brother, Virgil Dale Hughes. Jane is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Fluherty and husband, Chalmer, of Overton, Nev.; sons, Norman Gaines, and Van Gaines, both of Magnolia; brother Rex Hughes, of Enid, Okla.; granddaughters, Trace Millican and husband, Steven of McNeil, Natalie Gaines, of New York, Christie Johnson and husband, Norm, of Utah, Susan Rose and husband, Lindsey, of Nevada; grandsons, Jon Kent Gaines, Jr. and wife Stacy, of McNeil, Merrick Gaines, of Magnolia; great-grandsons, Joseph Dauzat, T. J. Johnson, Zack Gaines, Landon Rose, and Ryan Johnson; great-granddaughters, Payton Dauzat, and Lacy Johnson; and great-great grandchildren, Brantley Gaines, Alissa Rose and Dexter Gaines. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Lewis Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lewis Chapel with Bro. Danny Nix officiating and burial to follow at Stewart-Walkerville Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home Inc., of Magnolia. Pallbearers will be Joseph Dauzat, Jerry Rawls, Cody Rawls, Russell Woods, Robbie Langford, and Norman Gaines. Honorary pallbearers will be Zackary Gaines and Brandon Elkins. The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Wentworth Place and Dr. Fred Murphy for all their care and support they provided to Jane and her family.
