ROGERS — Karen Lynn Slingsby, 64, of Rogers, died Dec. 20, 2011. She was born in Richmond, Ind., on Dec. 11, 1947, to Richard and Edna (Elmore) Strait.
Karen was an administrative assistant at the University of California at Riverside before moving to the Rogers area.
Her courageous spirit was evident in her joy of camping, taking new routes to old places and ultimately, her battle with cancer.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Larry Slingsby of the home; parents, Richard and Edna Strait of Lowell; sons, Steven Slingsby and wife, Jennifer, of Rogers, Richard Slingsby of California: and her granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Alyssa.
She was preceded in death by her brother. Larry Strait.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.
Memorial services will be held in the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel, the date and time of which will be announced.
Memorials. in lieu of flowers, may be made to Habitat for Humanity or Circle of Life Hospice.
Cremation arrangements are by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.
