Obituary
Lula Maud Davis, 97, of Modesto, California, died February 17, 2004, at Modesto. Born June 22, 1906, at McAlester, Choctaw Nation, Oklahoma Territory, she was the daughter of Edgar Clay Fish and Cora Mae Garrett Fish. During her lifetime she worked in the health care field and other service related professions. She worked for 20 years for Redwood Theaters in Modesto, California. She was the first manager of the Colonial Inn in Heber Springs, Arkansas. She resided in Cleburne County, Arkansas, for about 40 years until her failing health forced her to move to be with family members. Survivors include three daughters, Doris Marie "Ginger" Hammond of Ceres, California, Betty Lou McGregor of San Benito, Texas, and Eva Mae Beck of Modesto, California; two stepdaughters, Erma Davis Billings of Yakima, Washington, and Wilma Davis Hoskins of Bethesda, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 20 great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Albert William "Smokey" Kirkwood and her husband, Joda Ranson Davis.
