Bill R. Yocum Sr., 63, of Barling died Sunday, June 27, 2004, in a local hospital. He was of the Baptist faith, a retired truck driver, and was a teamster. He is survived by his wife, Lois; a son, Billy Yocum Jr. of Fayetteville; a sister, Juanita Stanfill of Fort Smith; and two grandchildren. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Barling City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Hixson, Bill Battles, Dennis Cole, Dale Dawson, Robert Belt and Charles McCroskey. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Lois Yocum of Barling, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was a graduate from the Sparks Nursing School and was an R.N. for Sparks Regional Medical Center in the Orthopeadic and Critical Care Units. Ms. Yocum also worked with Doctos Fetcher and Turner at Holt Krock Clinic, where she worked with onocology patients. Later, she worked at the Sebastian County Health Department. Her final job prior to retirement was the Crawford County Health Department; where she worked with rural families during home health visits. Ms. Yocum was of the Methodist faith.
Ms. Yocum was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Bill R. Yocum, and a son: Dean Wesley Yocum.
She is survived by a son: Billy Ray Yocum Jr. and his wife: Michelle, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two wonderful grandsons: Zack Yocum and Nick Yocum; several nieces and nephews; and many dear former colleagues and friends.
Graveside service was held on Monday, September 8, 2008, at Barling City Cemetery.
