1941 - 2013
Thelma Jean Wilborn, affectionately known as Ms “Mickey” was born December 27, 1941 in Lexa, Arkansas to the late James Sr. and Ella (Jackson) Van. Thelma joined the Spring Lake Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She later joined New Haven Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend G. G. Brown.
She remained loyal to her faith until her health failed.
She was united in Holy matrimony to the late Arvell Wilborn Sr. To this union nine children were born. Five preceded her in death: Michael Wilborn, JacquelineWilborn-Walker, Timothy Wilborn, Marcus Wilborn and Steven Wilborn.
Thelma attended Eliza Miller High School. She later received her Certified Nursing Certificate and worked for many local families as a Private Duty Nurse. Thelma was well loved and respected in the community. She was always willing and ready to help anyone in their time of need.
If you ever needed anything done “Ms. Mickey” was the one to call. Mickey was truly an Inspiration to her family, friends, and she never met a stranger.
On March 23, 1996 Thelma Jean Wilborn was united in Holy Matrimony to Jesse Gatlin Sr. Thelma Wilborn departed this life on May 30, 2013.
She is preceded in death by a sister: “Doll”, A Grandson:
Otis Charles Smith Jr., A Grand Daughter: Shimekia Renee Wilborn.
She leaves to cherish her memory - Jesse Gatlin (Husband)
Four Children: Sherry Ann Wilborn of Tampa Florida, Arvell Wilborn Jr. of Beautfort South Carolina, Cardell Wilborn of Kenosha Wisconsin and Cynthia Wilborn of Little Rock, Arkansas;
Two Sisters; Eula Dentmond of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Christine Roy of Collinsville Illinois, One Brother; James Van Jr. of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
TWELVE GRAND CHILDREN; FOURTEEN GREAT GRAND CHILDREN; AND A HOST OF NIECES AND NEPHEWS, AND OTHER RELATIVES.
