ROGERS — John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

She was baptized Oct. 9, 1921, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Gillette and was confirmed in 1934 at St. James' Lutheran Church in Shawno, Wis. She attended St. James' Lutheran School and graduated from Shawno High School in 1940. She moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1943 and worked as a bookkeeper for Keeshin's Poultry Company where she met her husband, Lawrence "Wink" Winkleman.

She was a dedicated homemaker, and avid gardener, and a talented seamstress who worked from her home to make clothes for her family and local patrons (including competition outfits for the Rogers High School cheerleaders).

She later worked in the Wal-Mart fabric department in Rogers for 15 years.

She was a charter member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers where she remained an active member for 45 years. She enjoyed being a 60-year member of Lutheran Women's Missionary League where she held many offices and served on various boards for both her local and zone organizations. She served as a Sunday school teacher, a weekday school teacher, and an Altar Guild member for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, to whom she was married for 52 years; a baby daughter, Arlene Annette; her parents, Gustave and Esther Lemke; two brothers, Arnold Lemke and Leonard Lemke; one sister, Rachael Van Gerpin; and a grandson, Paul Studyvin.
