Elias King Davis, aged 65, well known Mount Holly citizen died in the Tri-State hospital in Shreveport at 3 a.m. Thursday. He is well known in this section and several daughters reside here in Camden. He was a member of the Methodist church at Mount Holly for many years. He is survived by the following daughters: Mrs. Betty Tubbs, Mrs. O. K. Smith, Mrs. V. C. Smith, Mrs. Ruby Davis, all of Camden; Mrs. J. E. Peace of Henderson, Texas; Mrs. H. T. Peace of El Dorado; and two sons, C. A. Davis of Henderson, Texas, and Dewey Davis of Homer, La.; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Liberty church at 2:30 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Wade of Magnolia officiating. Proctor mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Active pallbearers will be H. A. Smith, A. J. Peace, J. T. Wells, H. A. Anderson, W. F. Jordan and Allen Talbert. (Camden Times - February 18, 1937)
