SEASIDE - Delma went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2012. Delma was a longtime resident of Seaside. She was born in Springfield, Arkansas to Lois and James A. Mallett. Upon marriage to Earl Latimer, they relocated to California.
Delma was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Widowed Persons Association of California, and Ladies of the Moose Lodge. She was retired from Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. Delma enjoyed gardening and family and friends were blessed with beautiful blankets that she crocheted.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Earl Latimer, Donald Hutton, and Grover Simmons. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, James O. Mallett and Fannie E. Marler of Arkansas; and son-in-law, Oscar Grijalva and great-granddaughter, Ashley Gonzales.
Delma is survived by daughters, Phyllis (Steve) Frasier of San Tan Valley, AZ, Lois (Peter) Dew of Carmel Valley, and Mary (Billy) Bunch of Seaside. Also surviving are grandchildren: Stacey Frasier-Gonzales of AZ, Oscar "Chip" Grijalva of Carmel Valley, Jenell Fox of AZ, Lisa (Barry) Powell of Carmel Valley, Candice (Robert) Guevara of Seaside, Jaime (Chuck) Page of Seaside, Elizabeth (Adam) Mastin of Carmel Valley, and P. Benjamin Dew of San Jose; 16 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many family members in Arkansas.
Viewing will be held Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 6:00-8:00pm at Mission Mortuary, 450 Camino El Estero, Monterey. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 10, 2012 at 10:00am at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 1030 Hilby Ave., Seaside. Graveside services will be held immediately following at Mission Memorial Park in Seaside.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Nure Elsiddig for the support and care she has provided the last few months of Delma's life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Delma's memory to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 1030 Hilby Ave., Seaside.
