Ottis the son of George T. Gray and Mary Melissa "Lissie" (Doyle) Gray. Pearl the daughter of William Maston Raney and Mary E. Mosier Raney.


Mrs. Pearl L. Gray, 107, of Tuckerman, died Saturday, April 30, 2011. She was born September 24, 1903 at Strawberry, the daughter of William Maston and Mary Ellen (Mosier) Raney.

Mrs. Gray was a charter member of the Tuckerman First Free Will Baptist Church, and a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, quilting, and canning. She lived a very full and active life until the very end.

Mrs. Gray was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis Princeton Gray; six brothers; and one granddaughter, Janie Gray.

Survivors include her son, William P. Gray of Strawberry, Arkansas; her daughter, Sybil Hardin of Cedar Lake, Indiana; four grandchildren, Janice Bishop, Larry Hardin, James P. Gray, and Rebecca Layman; three great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.

Visitation is Tuesday evening, 5-7 p.m. at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home. Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at First Free Will Baptist Church. Interment will be in Ward Cemetery at Strawberry at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
