November 26, 1931 - April 23, 2007
Mary Ella Jones, age 75, of Marvell went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2007. She was born in Des Ark on November 26, 1931 to parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Allen Stacey, Sr. On June 19, 1947, she married Walter S. Jones, Sr. They raised seven children, 5 sons and 2 daughters, and made their home in Marvell for over 24 years.
She was a Pentecost and attended church services at Full Gospel Church of God in Marianna, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Walter S. Jones, Sr., an infant granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Jones; parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Stacey, Sr.; three brothers, John Stacey, Jr., Nick Stacey, and Dan Homer Stacey; two sisters, Velma Dale and Ollie Mae Carter Long.
She is survived by five sons, Walter Jones, Jr. and wife, Linda of Mountain Home, Michael David Jones of Pine Bluff, Marcus Eugene Jones and wife, Dodie of Franklin, Rex Van Jones and wife,Lydia of Marvell, Johnny Jones and wife, Lynn of Lexa; two daughters, Sandra Gail Cavette and husband, Darrell of Southaven, MS and Marvell, and Rosemary Lorene Wallace and husband, Mike of Marvell; a sister, Helen Whittaker of Des Arc; one brother, Bill Marcum of Des Arc. She was a loving and devoted grandmother of 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, who loved her dearly.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Services for Mrs. Jones will be Thursday, April 26, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-9 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Reverend Jimmy Spears and Reverend James Routh will officiate.
Pallbearers will be James Fortner Jones, Tead Kinman, Darrell Cavette, William O’Neil, Rocky Colburn, Vernon Morrell, Mike Wallace. Honorary pallbearers are Earnest Saylors, James Saylors, James Routh, Johnny Routh, Zachary Monroe, Matthew Adkins, Jordan Reynolds, Charlie Reynolds, Jeffery Cavette.
