Lavon P. Jarrett, 81, of Batesville died Thursday, March 13, 2014.
He was born in Grange, Arkansas on February 2, 1933 to Pleas E. and Mae V. (Cooper) Jarrett. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church.
He was an avid gardener and enjoyed yard work and being with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Janie Jarrett of the home; sons, Terry Jarrett of Charlotte, Billy Jarrett of West Fork, Rodney Jarrett of Batesville, and Marcus Jarrett of Paragould; grandchildren: Mendy Craft, Miranda Branscum, Adam Jarrett, Kyla Prater, Slater Downing, Autumn Downing, Katie Ford, Tyler Jarrett, Johanna Jarrett, Joshua Jarrett, Emily Jarrett, AnnElise Jarrett, and Andrew Jarrett; and great-grandchildren: Faith Branscum, Blaine Blakley, Brianna Blakley, Aspyn Craft, Kason Prater, and Brantley Prater. He is also survived by one brother, Ted Jarrett of Batesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Stephen Jarrett.
Pallbearers will be his sons, Billy Jarrett, Rodney Jarrett, Marcus Jarrett, Terry Jarrett and his grandsons, Adam Jarrett and Tyler Jarrett.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Roller-Crouch Chapel with Mike Hoggard officiating. Burial will follow at Ward Cemetery at Strawberry under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
There will not be a public visitation.
